Under this Phoenix code, if a person offers to, agrees to, or commits an act of prostitution—or solicits prostitution—they are guilty of a class 1 misdemeanor.
Sexual Assault (ARS 13-1406)
Similar to sexual abuse, sexual assault occurs when a person intentionally or knowingly engages in sexual contact (intercourse or oral sex) with any person without the consent of such person. It is considered a class 2 felony.
Violent Sexual Assault (ARS 14-1323)
If sexual abuse or assault is committed involving the discharge, use, or threatening exhibition of a deadly weapon or dangerous instrument, or involves the intentional or knowing infliction of serious physical injury, it is considered violent sexual assault and can carry up to a life prison sentence.
When the Sex Crime Involves a Minor (Under age 15)
