Points begin to accumulate against your driver’s license after receiving multiple traffic violations. Each of these traffic offenses have their own penalties attached to them:

Speeding – Speeding is one of the most common tickets that drivers receive. Offenders can face driver’s license suspension, traffic safety school, a maximum fine of $750 plus surcharges, and four months in jail. A second conviction carries a mandatory twenty-day jail sentence and even more serious consequences.

Driving with a Suspended Driver’s License – This is a class 1 misdemeanor charge, which can result in jail time of up to six months, a maximum fine of $2,500, and driver’s license restrictions. Arizona police departments often have Automatic License Plate Scanning technology, which allows them to track down violators even when there are no other violations.
