Attorney Todd Coolidge went to work at the Maricopa County Public Defender’s Office right after graduating from ASU and aided in the launch of the office’s DUI defense unit in ’96. During his time with the Public Defender he focused on aggravated assaults and DUI’s as well as vehicular homicides and became qualified to handle death penalty cases. Since 1998, Todd Coolidge has been in private practice and has successfully conducted hundreds of jury trials in several courts in Arizona. He has experience with trials including charges of First Degree Murder, Aggravated Assault, Capital Murder, DUI and Sexual Conduct with a Minor.
Todd Coolidge has also been successful with pre-file representation, where charges are fought before they are ever filed. He has, on three separate occasions, convinced a capital review committee to not seek the death penalty for first degree murder cases. Mr. Coolidge also handles special actions, appeals, and Rule 32 Post-Conviction Relief Petitions for Review. He has a published opinion by the Arizona Court of Appeals, State v. Olcan, and several memorandum decisions.

It is bestowed upon lawyers who have shown superior knowledge, integrity, skill, competence and professionalism in a specific area of law. To be a Certified Criminal Law Specialist, Todd Coolidge had to meet the following requirements:
- Be licensed to practice law for at least 7 years.
- Be licensed in Arizona for at least 2 years
- Handle a specific number of cases in the specialty field.
- Receive favorable peer review from attorneys, judges or other professionals in the specialty field.
- Demonstrate integrity, professionalism and a high degree of competence in the specialty field
- Devote the equivalent of 50% of a full-time law practice in the specialty field.
- Pass a written examination.
